Once upon a time, there lived a kind king. He loved and served his subjects dearly.The people also loved their king very much.
The king had five sons. They were young and handsome. The king was very old. He wanted to select his successor. So he called all his five sons.
He said dear sons i have a big treasure. I want you to search the real peace. You may take as much money as you want to buy real peace.
The sons obeyed the king. They started on their mission to buy real peace. After one year the sons returned to the king.
Four of them had brought beautiful things. They thought these things would bring real peace in their lives.The king asked the princes one by one about their deeds.
The first prince said, Father i have brought jewels and diamonds.These things can only bring real peace. The second prince said, Father i have brought fine horses and elephants.These are rare and valuable animals. The third prince said, Father i have brought many luxurious articles.You will not find such articles easily.
The fourth prince said, Father i have bought a big piece of land at a cheap rate. It will give a great earning in return.The king was sad to see these things.
Then he asked his fifth son, What have you done with your money my son. The fifth prince replied Father i happened to be in a village where the people were poor sick and hungry. I spend all my money to provide them food, clothes and medicines. So i could not buy anything for you.
The king was very happy to hear the words of the fifth prince. He got up from the throne and gave a pat on his back. The king said.
Dear son your brothers have bought worldly things. They are useless. They cannot give real peace. But you have done a good deed. This kind of deed will certainly bring real peace. You will become my successor. Come and sit on my throne.
